I pride myself on being extremely cerebral, so it should come as no surprise that psychology is one of my biggest loves.

Exploring the human mind, coming up with answers to explain our behavior, and finding out what makes people tick and why, will never not be interesting.

And none of that even takes into account how sexy/sexual psychology can be. There are things that turn us on, not because of how they feel physically, but how they stimulate us mentally.

It’s not just the act of spanking that gets some people going, for example - but the themes of dominance/submission, power, and primal aggression that come with it.

They say the brain is the largest sex organ, and I’d agree. Both seduction and orgasms begin in the mind, at least in my opinion. If someone’s head isn’t in it, it’s harder for them to enjoy what’s going on.

It’s also fascinating to see people be ruled by their own minds, for better or worse. How someone as OCD as I am has to shake the doorknob 10 times to feel comfortable that it’s locked - only for my mind to almost convince me as I drive away that I actually didn’t check the knob, and that the door is most likely unlocked, if not wide open completely.

It’s also devastating to see people grapple with mental illness. People that physically resemble the person you know, love, and remember, but who become unrecognizable once they start talking or acting.

The mind is an incredible thing; capable of both sheer brilliance and dangerous ignorance. Infinite creativity and writer’s block. Wholesomeness and perversion. Joyous light, and unparalleled darkness. Sanity, and insanity.

It’s the only organ that named itself, and as powerful as our physical selves may be, the brain has the final say on every move we do or don’t make. We’re a captive audience in that sense, trapped in our own minds no matter what.

As scary as that reality is at times, the psychology of the human mind never fails to fascinate.
